TRUST & SECURITY

Privacy Policy

How we protect student information, secure account data, and uphold digital learning integrity.

Last Updated: August 3, 2026 • Effective Immediately
01

Data Collection & Minimization

We adhere to strict data-minimization principles. We collect only the essential information necessary to provide an authentic learning experience: student name, registered email address, securely salted/hashed passwords (using industry-standard bcrypt), and interactive study progress metrics (such as completed concepts, bookmarks, and revision flags).

02

How We Use Learning Data

Learning metrics are processed exclusively to empower individual student progress tracking:

  • Saving concept completion states across sessions.
  • Synchronizing personal revision lists and bookmarks.
  • Generating chapter-level mastery indicators.

We NEVER sell, rent, or lease student information or contact details to third-party advertisers or marketing agencies.

03

Cookies & Session Security

PhotonFactor Science utilizes encrypted HTTP-only session cookies strictly for account authentication and CSRF security verification. We do not use third-party invasive tracking pixels or cross-site fingerprinting scripts.

04

Young Learners' Privacy

Recognizing that students accessing secondary science curricula may be minors, our portal is built to comply with children's privacy best practices. Student notes and self-evaluation records remain completely private to individual user accounts and are never made public.

05

Updates & Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as curriculum features expand. If you have questions regarding our privacy practices or wish to request data account deletion, please reach out via our Contact Page.
